The federal government has announced an increase in the price of high-speed diesel, while petrol prices will remain unchanged for the next two weeks. Starting October 16, petrol will continue to be priced at Rs. 247.03 per liter. However, the cost of high-speed diesel will rise by Rs. 5 per liter, bringing it to Rs. 246.29 per liter.
In the previous price review, petrol saw a reduction of Rs. 2.07 per liter, and high-speed diesel dropped by Rs. 3.40 per liter. The current adjustments are largely a response to fluctuations in the global oil market, which frequently influences local fuel pricing.
These changes aim to align domestic fuel prices with international trends. The government’s decision to maintain petrol prices while increasing diesel rates is intended to balance fuel costs within the country, particularly considering the impact on industries and consumers that rely on diesel. While this increase may affect sectors like transportation, the government hopes it will help stabilize fuel pricing during this period.
