There are rumors swilring in the tech world about the launch of “Phone with No Buttons” named as “Zhuque,” by Xiaomi. They are expected to release it in the market in the the first half of 2025. The absence of physical buttosn will be a most distinct feature of the history and an incredible addition to smartphone updates.
Details about the Zhuque are still confidential, but there is speculation that Xiaomi might replace traditional buttons. Possible features include advanced gesture controls, pressure-sensitive edges, or voice commands, reminiscent of Huawei’s previous attempts with virtual side buttons on the P30 Pro.
In addition to its phone with no buttons design, the Zhuque is rumored to sport an under-display selfie camera, a technology that Xiaomi aims to refine beyond Samsung’s current implementations. This new approach could set a new standard in the world of smartphone cameras with a more fabulous front-facing camera setup.
The Zhuque is also expected to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 SoC, which will be a significant upgrade from the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 is anticipated to be launched in October 2024. It will also be featured in the upcoming Xiaomi 15S Pro, due between April and June 2025.
While the Zhuque has the potential to make a significant impact, its success remains uncertain. It may either captivate consumers with its novel design or end up as a niche product similar to the Meizu Zero.
In related news, Xiaomi is also rumored to be developing a tri-folding phone, set to be showcased in February 2025.
