Prime Minister Revives Laptop Scheme for Talented Students

According to Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Prime Minister (SAPM) Special Assistant on Youth Affairs, the Prime Minister Youth Program will reintroduce the laptop scheme this year. This was announced during a recent press conference. At this conference, the SAPM shared that the scheme aims to distribute 100,000 laptops to the youth.

Expressing remorse for the discontinuation of the laptop scheme under the previous government, she emphasized the significance of laptops in enabling young individuals to continue their education and work remotely amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The laptops the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government provided were crucial in ensuring continuity during challenging times.

Furthermore, as part of their efforts to cultivate a startup culture among the youth, the government has launched the National Innovation Award. This prestigious award aims to acknowledge and promote innovative ideas and initiatives.

The SAPM stressed the government’s dedication to encouraging healthy activities among young people. In the past year, approximately 54,000 children participated in various sports activities. Hockey trials were conducted in twenty-five regions, while volleyball trials were held in twenty-eight regions.

Additionally, the SAPM announced the nationwide commencement of registration for football trials. This presents an opportunity for talented young individuals from all corners of Pakistan to exhibit their skills in this sport.

These initiatives collectively demonstrate the government’s commitment to empowering and involving the youth. They prioritize providing educational opportunities, fostering innovation, and encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle.
