Egg prices in Pakistan have experienced a substantial surge, as revealed by official documents. The average price has escalated to an all-time high of Rs. 314.59, marking a significant increase from the previous year’s rate of Rs. 240.80 per dozen.
Recent data from October highlights a further sharp increase, with the price per dozen rising by over Rs. 14. Major cities such as Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Karachi have witnessed alarming rates, with eggs costing as much as Rs. 322 per dozen.
Gujranwala emerges as the city with the highest egg prices, averaging Rs. 322.16 per dozen, closely followed by Karachi at Rs. 321.64 and Rawalpindi at Rs. 321.34. Quetta also faces the impact of soaring prices, with the average cost per dozen standing at Rs. 321.7.
