The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) hosted its 27th Convocation on Saturday, honoring 1,591 graduates. This event, therefore, celebrated their hard work and achievements. Among the graduates, 24 received gold medals, and 44 earned merit certificates. Additionally, the ceremony highlighted their excellence in BBA, BS, MBA, MS, MPhil, and PhD programs.
Distinguished Guests and Memorable Speeches
The ceremony welcomed distinguished guests, including Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, and Anwaarul Haq Kakar. Moreover, Yasmin Fasih, an IoBM alumna from the first batch, delivered the keynote address.
Governor Tessori, in his speech, encouraged graduates to reflect on their parents’ unwavering support. Furthermore, he praised IoBM’s founder, Shahjehan Syed Karim, for his visionary leadership. He also urged the youth to take initiative and build a brighter future.
Dr. Gohar Ejaz, on the other hand, emphasized the rarity of the graduates’ achievement. He also discussed the abundant opportunities in Pakistan, urging the graduates to apply their skills for economic growth.
IoBM’s Vision for Excellence
President Talib Karim highlighted IoBM’s dedication to global academic standards. In addition, he discussed the pursuit of AACSB accreditation and the integration of advanced technology into the curriculum. Moreover, IoBM’s Center for Islamic Business and Finance contributes significantly to national development goals.
Chancellor Bashir Janmohammad encouraged graduates to honor their parents. He also urged them to dream big and develop entrepreneurial skills to enhance their careers.
Youthful Energy and Inspiration
Anwaarul Haq Kakar expressed excitement about the energy of the younger generation. Furthermore, he encouraged graduates to build an equitable society and face life’s challenges with optimism.
Keynote speaker Yasmin Fasih reflected on her IoBM journey. She emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and taking risks. Her advice, thus, inspired graduates to pursue their goals with determination.
A Valedictory Moment
Valedictorian Rida Asif, recipient of the Shahjehan Syed Karim Gold Medal, spoke about the importance of using education to create positive societal change. She, therefore, urged her peers to integrate corporate social responsibility into their careers.
