Islamabad Officially Announces Two Days Local Holiday

Islamabad is preparing to welcome esteemed foreign delegates with a high-level visit scheduled from July 30 to August 01. To ensure the success of this significant event and provide foolproof security for the dignitaries, the authorities have taken the decision to declare Monday, July 31, and Tuesday, August 1 as local holidays in the federal capital.

The purpose behind this decision is to facilitate a seamless visit for high-profile dignitaries, including the Chinese Vice Premier, He Lifeng, who will be visiting Pakistan’s capital city as a Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping during the mentioned period.

Prior to this, the local administration had made a formal request to the federal government to designate Monday and Tuesday as local holidays in Islamabad. The Interior Ministry officially issued the notification late last night, confirming the two-day holiday arrangement.

During these local holidays, all public and private institutions, including schools, colleges, universities, and offices, will remain closed. This measure aims to ensure the smooth functioning of the event and accommodate the needs of the visiting dignitaries.

It’s worth mentioning that the federal government had previously announced two public holidays on July 28 and 29, observing Ashura.
