Sindh Sells Number Plate ‘1’ for Rs. 10 Crore

Sindh recently made headlines with its inaugural auction of premium number plates, orchestrated by the Excise and Taxation Department. The event drew considerable attention, attracting a diverse crowd eager to secure distinctive registration plates.

The auction’s spotlight shone brightly on the coveted ‘A1’ number plate, which shattered records by commanding an astounding Rs. 100 million (10 crore rupees). This prestigious plate found a new owner in businessman Muzamal Kareem, who also made waves by acquiring the premium ‘7’ number plate for Rs. 45 million (4.5 crore rupees).

Another notable transaction featured the ‘786’ number plate, secured by businessman Sorosh for Rs. 26 million (2.6 crore rupees). Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah presented Sorosh with the ownership certificate, underscoring the significance of these plates as not just identifiers but also valuable investments. Winners at the auction anticipate future resale opportunities, potentially yielding substantial profits.
