The long-awaited Digital Nomad Visa has been officially launched by Spain. It grants foreign remote workers the ability to legally work from Spain.
This visa was previously announced by the Spanish government It is attracting freelancers from around the world who seek to work in a foreign country.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the visa applicants must demonstrate that:
- They can perform their job remotely
- Must be a citizen of a non-European Union nation
- Must have been associated with non-Spanish company (at least for three months)
- Have health insurance
- Have no criminal record
- Have a college degree or work experience
The visa is valid for up to five years and is extendable. The minimum income requirement for the visa is approximately $32,000 annually, which is 200% of Spain’s monthly minimum wage.
The Digital Nomad Visa is a popular option for freelancers and is also available in other countries such as Portugal, Ireland, and the United Arab Emirates. Interested applicants can apply for the visa at the nearest embassy or consulate by submitting their passport, photos, and other required documents.
