On Friday, the Lahore district administration seized banners for UET Lahore’s Spring 2025 admissions campaign. The incident, referred to as UET Lahore Banners Seized, unfolded outside a printing press in Royal Park. Officials intercepted the materials during loading, sparking criticism from university officials and public debate.
Municipal employees, led by Zonal Officer Riaz Gujjar, stopped UET staff as they loaded banners onto a rickshaw. They took the banners to a storage facility and detained Usman, the printing press owner.
UET Registrar Muhammad Asif filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner. He accused the administration of illegal actions. The university demanded the banners’ return and Usman’s release. The district administration has not addressed these allegations, raising concerns about municipal authority and its impact on academic outreach.
