Three years ago, WhatsApp launched the Screen lock option for mobile apps with a password to stop unauthorized access. But this feature is currently not available on the Desktop app.
WhatsApp Desktop has many users around the world. Now, it is necessary to have this feature on our PCs and Laptops to prevent another person from using our WhatsApp if someone has access to our laptop.
WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is currently working on Screen Lock for the desktop. According to that report, the feature is currently under testing, and it will be launched soon.
If the Screen Lock feature is enabled on the desktop app, a password will be required each time someone tries to open WhatsApp. This feature is quite useful for those who share their laptops with their siblings or other people. However, this feature will be optional and can be enabled or disabled through settings anytime.
The password that will be used to log in will only be stored for privacy purposes and will not be shared with Whatsapp. If someone loses their password they can log out and again scan the QR code through their phone.
However, it is still unclear when this feature will be available on the WhatsApp Desktop app. Keep reading our blogs to stay updated.
