WhatsApp, the widely-used messaging and calling app, is reportedly developing new features. According to the WhatsApp news platform WaBetaInfo, a new version of the app is in development that will include a scheduled call feature similar to Zoom and Google Meet.
Additionally, the new version will be able to transcribe English voice notes. These features are currently available in version 2.23.4.4 WhatsApp beta for Android.
The scheduled call feature allows users to click on a “schedule call” option. It has three more options for users to enter details including the title, select date, and time. After entering all the details, users need to press “create” to fix the appointment. Both sides will be alerted about the call and calls can be joined midway.
By scheduling calls, people can be more organized, productive, and efficient in their communication and collaboration with others. They can plan their day better and have enough time to prepare and participate in the call. This can prevent scheduling conflicts and ensure that important meetings are not missed.

Zoom currently provides video and audio calls for up to 100 participants. It allows screen sharing, recording, and transcription capabilities. Zoom also provides breakout rooms for smaller group discussions and polling and Q&A features. Google Meet does not offer these additional features.
