Dawlance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Arçelik, the second-largest manufacturer in Europe, has consistently sponsored initiatives aimed at accelerating Pakistan’s socio-economic progress. This collaboration with Bondh e Shams is a testament to their dedication to making a positive impact.
The ‘OASIS Box’ is the focal point of this ambitious partnership. It is a portable, solar-powered water-filtration and storage unit designed to combat bacterial water contamination, ensuring daily access to safe, clean water. This initiative aligns with Bondh e Shams’ sustainable vision to provide clean drinking water to marginalized communities throughout Pakistan.
Under the agreement, Dawlance has committed to providing financial support and other resources over the next five years to help Bondh e Shams complete this vital project. Each OASIS Box has the capacity to produce 10,000 liters of fresh drinking water daily, which can serve the needs of up to 10,000 people every day.
This partnership goes beyond providing clean water; it aims to enhance local infrastructure. Boreholes and water access points will be developed, and water quality will be tested to ensure compliance with the standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the government. Bondh e Shams will deploy a team of engineers responsible for the installation and maintenance of the OASIS Boxes, with a five-year operational guarantee.
