England Whitewashed Pakistan in 3 Match Test Series

England beat Pakistan by successfully chasing the easy target of 167 runs in their third Match Test Series in Karachi. The English cricket team swept the series 3-0 and handed the Pakistanis their first home whitewash.

On the fourth day, starting from 112-2, England reached the easy 167-run target in just 38 minutes. Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes became the top scorers. They scored 82 and 85 runs, respectively.

Duckett hit his 12th boundary to seal the victory on the fourth day, with England finishing on 170-2.

Agha Salman dropped Stokes on off-spinner Abrar Ahmad’s delivery with the English captain on 22 and just 19 needed for victory.

England won the first Test match in Rawalpindi by 74 runs and the second in Multan by 26 runs.

This was England’s first test tour to Pakistan after 17 years. In these seventeen years, England refused a couple of times to come to Pakistan because of security concerns.

The English team played aggressive cricket right from the start of the Pakistan tour. They smashed 506-4 to set a record for the most runs on the opening day of a Match Test Series. Four batters, Zak Crawley, Duckett, Harry Brook, and Ollie Pop, scored centuries on the first day.

Stokes was also bold in his captaincy. England sets a low target of 343 runs for Pakistan in Rawalpindi and then sets unusual fields to get wickets.

The English team adopted a freewheeling approach in Test cricket dubbed “BazBall.” after the nickname of coach Bendon McCullum. They have won 9 out of their last ten test matches.

Pakistan’s side faces many injuries to their fast bowlers, with Shaheen Shah Afridi ruled out before the series with a knee injury. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah missed the last two Tests because of fitness problems.

But Pakistan suffered major batting collapses, losing their last six wickets for 108 in the first innings in Karachi and seven for 52 in the second.

Tuesday’s defeat is also the first time Pakistan has lost four home Tests continuously, having been beaten by Australia in Lahore in March.

England also defeated Pakistan in 7 matches One-day series by 4-3 in October this year.
