Google plans to re-enter the laptop market with a new Pixel Laptop, codenamed “Snowy.”
This high-end device will rival the Apple MacBook Pro, Dell XPS, Microsoft Surface, and Samsung Galaxy Chromebook. The project has moved beyond the concept stage. A dedicated team is actively working on its development. Early reports suggest it may run Chrome OS. However, recent rumors hint at Android integration. This aligns with Google’s efforts to unify Android and Chrome OS, giving the laptop a unique edge.
Google has tried laptops before but with limited success. The 2013 Chromebook Pixel impressed with premium quality but failed due to its high price. Later models, like the PixelBook and PixelBook Go, showed potential but didn’t dominate the market.
Now, “Snowy” aims to change the game. Its premium design and advanced features will compete directly with top-tier brands. Whether it runs Chrome OS, Android, or both remains unknown. However, Google seems determined to lead in the high-end laptop space.
