Pakistan Plans Strategy for Trump on Defense, Energy, Trade

The federal government is preparing a strategy to engage with the Trump administration. This Pakistan Trump Administration strategy will focus on defense, energy, trade, and health. The Pakistan Trump Administration strategy was developed following a recent meeting led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

MoFA has asked relevant ministries to submit their proposals quickly. This will help create a comprehensive presentation. At the same time, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Washington is coordinating with U.S. officials to arrange the third round of the Energy Security Dialogue. The dialogue is tentatively set for mid-January. However, there are concerns about timing. The new administration might not honor previous agreements during this transition period.

The Energy Security Dialogue will address critical issues. These include the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, renewable energy projects, LNG infrastructure, and private-sector energy investments in Pakistan. The Energy and Petroleum Divisions will provide final input on the schedule.

Through these discussions, Pakistan aims to strengthen ties with the U.S. The goal is to align both countries’ economic and strategic interests.
