The Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Award (APICTA) 2022, known as the Oscars of the Asian IT industry, was held in Islamabad, Pakistan. APICTA award hosted by Pakistan for the first time.
The five days of APICTA events ended successfully after several activities, including the presentation of products, judging sessions, business matchmaking, startup sessions, and cultural shows.
Pakistan has declared the winner in seven categories out of 25 categories. Thailand and Hong Kong each won in six award categories.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the APICTA Award’22. The chief executive said that Pakistan has enormous untapped potential in Information Technology (IT) sector. He invited all the foreign IT companies and experts to explore the indigenous talented youth bulge of the country.

On this occasion, Pakistan’s IT and Telecommunication Minister, Syed Amin UL Haque, was delighted to see the event’s success. He said:
“Pakistan was privileged to host the APICTA Awards for the first time in history, which was possible due to the unwavering commitment of the ministry and untiring efforts f the local IT companies under the umbrella of Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA).”
Chairman APICTA, Stan Singh, said, “Most foreign delegates visited Pakistan for the first time, and they have now become ambassadors of Pakistan for promoting its soft image in their economies.
APICTA-Asia Pacific ICT Alliance is an association of ICT communities of its member economies in the region. All member countries come together in the spirit of collaboration, forming a cooperative network to promote technology innovation. APICTA encourages the development of indigenous ICT solutions for the global market via an annual awards program.
The annual awards program brings together small and large businesses, entrepreneurs, start-ups, the public sector, not-for-profits, or students in a single program.
The awards, generally held around November/December every year, provide participants valuable mentoring and networking opportunities with influencers and industry leaders. The program includes valuable business matching opportunities with access to venture capitalists and investors.
More than 19,000 ICT companies are currently registered in Pakistan.The country’s ICT industry exports state-of-the-art products and services to 169 countries.
