PSO Suspends Fuel Supply to PIA Over Unpaid Bills

The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has once again taken the step of suspending fuel supply to Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) due to unpaid dues, leading to delays for several PIA flights, particularly at Lahore airport. Notably, flights such as PK-747 from Lahore to Madina and PK 305 from Lahore to Karachi experienced significant delays.

In response to the situation, a PIA spokesperson assured passengers that the delayed flights would take off shortly, as negotiations with the PSO administration were already underway to reach a resolution.

Regrettably, PIA has been making headlines for unfavorable reasons recently. Notably, one of the national flag carrier’s planes was grounded in Canada due to outstanding dues. Fortunately, the matter was resolved after the payment of $200,000 to Swissport, a ground handling and fuel company. A representative from PIA clarified that the time zone difference between the two countries had contributed to the payment delay.
