It is a social media platform for creating, sharing and discovering short videos. The app is used by young people as an outlet to express themselves through singing, dancing, comedy and lip syncing, and allows users to create videos and share them within the community.
TikTok revealed that it removed most of the videos that violated the guidelines set by TikTok. It is estimated that around 113 million videos were removed between April and June, which means that only 1% of the total number of videos were uploaded.
The main reason for the removal of the videos was that it violated TikTok’s policies and guidelines that they set. 15,351,388 videos were downloaded from Pakistan, with a proactive takedown rate of 98.7 percent, 97.4 percent for removal 24 hours ago, and 97.3 percent for takedown before any views.
TikTok has been banned four times in Pakistan. TikTok has over 1 billion global users.
Pakistan ranks second in terms of the highest volume of videos downloaded on TikTok. The United States topped the list with nearly 18 million videos removed.
