“It should be the case that I can’t look at anyone’s DMs if somebody has put a gun to my head,” said Musk while talking about the privacy he wants for Twitter DMs.
Elon Musk discloses a plan to launch voice and video chat features in direct messages on Twitter. He publicly announced a new feature on the platform. An official meeting was held at the headquarters that introduced new plans for Twitter’s employees. In the presentation, the CEO of Twitter displayed a plan named “Twitter 2.0’ which highlighted new additions on Twitter. It also highlighted the framework and plans for all the new features launching on the microblogging platform.
The CEO proposed the plan to the employees that the company should bring in video chats, DMs, and voice chats in the direct messages during the meeting.
He added ,“We want to enable users to be able to communicate without being concerned about their privacy, [or] without being concerned about a data breach at Twitter causing all of their DMs to hit the web, or think that maybe someone at Twitter could be spying on their DMs. That’s obviously not going to be cool and it has happened a few times before”
The CEO metaphorically describes that from Twitter no one should access the DMs of the User, even if a gun is put to their head.“It should be the case that I can’t look at anyone’s DMs if somebody has put a gun to my head,” said Elon Musk.
As much as the CEO Musk is excited about this feature, It seems people also believe that the idea of Musk to bring in the new feature is outright. This feature can be very useful for businesses as well as normal users on the platform. In the past, several chats got leaked so this new feature will improve the security of the platform. As the internet is not a safe place for data so hopefully this new feature will help secure the data.
