In a significant move towards enhanced citizen convenience, the Punjab government has launched an online system for learner driving license applications across the province. This progressive step addresses the challenges posed by large crowds and slow procedures witnessed at physical licensing offices.
The initiative, spearheaded by the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, follows complaints about network issues and procedural delays during visits to various offices in Lahore. Recognizing the need for a more efficient approach, the online service aims to streamline the application process, offering a user-friendly alternative to the traditional method.
To apply for a learner driving license online, individuals can follow these straightforward steps:
- Create an Account: Sign up on the DLIMS licensing website to create a personalized account.
- Fill Out the Application Form: Complete the online application form with the required details.
- Upload Necessary Documents: Submit scanned copies/pictures of the original CNIC’s front and back sides. For applicants aged 50 and above, a medical certificate signed by a government doctor is also required.
- Generate a PSID: Create a Payment Slip ID (PSID) and proceed to pay the necessary fee through ATM, online banking, or mobile banking channels.
This online application system is designed to not only simplify the licensing process but also alleviate the inconvenience caused by long queues and network issues at physical offices. By providing a digital alternative, the Punjab government aims to make obtaining a learner driving license a hassle-free experience for its citizens.
