The Ignite National Technology Fund will host the 2nd Annual National Cybersecurity Hackathon and Hands-on Workshop, from October to December. This Hackathon Competition will be held in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta, and hands-on workshops will be held in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Sukkur, and Abbottabad.
Ignite announced Rs. 6 million prize money for the winner. According to Ignite, the first prize is Rs. 3 million and the second prize is Rs. 2 million, 3rd prize is Rs. 1 million. According to Ignite, the National Cybersecurity Competition was created to give hobbyists, hackers, and students the chance to participate in the exciting challenge of winning prizes, earning awards, and building their knowledge base.
Cybersecurity Hackathon 2022 will benefit security researchers and academics who can use the attack data and network traffic generated during the competition as case studies to model, predict and prevent real-world security incidents.
Ignite’s first cybersecurity hackathon took place in 2021, with 1,176 teams from across the country participating. Out of 1176 teams, 475 teams advanced to the qualifying rounds in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, with the final round being held in Islamabad. The top three teams in these five categories of Hackathon were awarded with the prize money of Rs.6 million.
Ignite National Technology Fund or simply Ignite (formerly National ICT R & D Fund) is a non-profit corporation owned by the Government of Pakistan and controlled by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoITT).
