Sharjeel Inam Memon, Mass Transit and Transport Minister, expressed his views after observing the formation of the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service corridor. He also claimed that BRT fares increased rapidly after the emergence of high fares of ride-hailing services. The electronic taxi services will prove to be contributing towards a less polluted environment for the people. This is a strong move for a sustainable future, keeping in mind the health concerns regarding the usage of existing vehicles.

MTT Minister affirmed the struggles of the Sindh government to introduce more comfortable and eco-friendly E-taxi services in Karachi. They announced that the services would be available to the public to help them overcome commute challenges. It is not only designed for upper or middle-class families but for lower-class families too, who are the most vulnerable to traveling issues.
Sharjeel Inam Memon suggested introducing new taxi services and the commercial value of this project during the visit to the Red Line Bus Rapid construction site.“A modern, affordable, and environment-friendly electric taxi service will be launched in Karachi and extended to other major cities of the province,” he added, “Negotiations are underway on the project, and the Sindh government is working seriously on it.”
The purpose behind the new transportation service is to improve convenience for Karachi residents with modern transport facilities. The government wants these services for daily public use as transportation is a fundamental right of any citizen. The Sindh government is entirely obliged to provide these facilities. The public wants these services to be provided at a low cost so they can have a reasonable and convenient means of transportation.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership has asserted the Sindh government to facilitate the citizens of Karachi by completing all transport-related projects.
The minister of transport informed the media channel about more new initiatives. At the start of November, the Karachi transportation department launched a test drive, which was a new innovative battery-powered bus for passengers. w. Memon and all related officials tried the test drive and inspected the latest imported E-buses. The department inspected the sea view and the Sindh archives complex as a sightseeing opportunity.
