Ahsan Ramzan Secures Final Berth in IBSF World Snooker Championship

Pakistan’s Ahsan Ramzan has clinched a spot in the final of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World 6-red Men’s Snooker Championship in Doha, Qatar. The semi-final clash saw him triumph over 15-red World Champion Ali Alobaidli with a frame score of 6-4, securing his place in the highly anticipated final.

Ramzan, already a decorated snooker player, adds this achievement to his list of victories, including the Asian U-21 Snooker Championship earlier this year in Iran. Notably, he became the first Pakistani cueist to win the Asian title, showcasing his prowess on the international stage. Ramzan’s previous triumph includes clinching the IBSF World Snooker Championship title in 2022, further solidifying his position as a formidable force in the snooker world.

In the other semi-final clash, Cyprus-national Michael Georgiou edged out Pakistan’s Mohammad Naseem with a narrow 6-5 victory, setting the stage for an intense final showdown.

The semi-final journey unfolded on Tuesday, with Ramzan defeating Bahrain’s Habib Sabah 5-2 and Naseem securing a hard-fought victory against China’s Xiaolong Liang with a 5-4 score in the quarter-final stage. Ramzan’s path to the quarter-finals included a commanding 5-0 win over India’s Pankaj Advani, a distinguished player with over 20 world titles in billiards and snooker.

As the final showdown awaits, Ahsan Ramzan continues to carry the legacy of Muhammad Yousaf, who made history by winning the 1994 IBSF World Snooker Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa.
