Government Announces to Resume Prime Minister Laptop Scheme Soon

Government has officially decided to restart the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima Khawaja has confirmed.

Reports stated, During a press briefing with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb the SAPM announced this news.

The Special Assistant revealed that 100,000 laptops will be distributed among students across the country on the basis of their talent. Moreover, Balochistan’s quota has doubled this time.

This scheme will be started under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP). In addition to the laptop scheme, a Skills Development Program will also be started, under which 100,000 bright students will get IT training.

In October, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed talked about relaunching the laptop scheme in the coming months.

He also said that HEC will launch online courses for university students. These online courses will be launched in collaboration with Microsoft and many different international firms.
