On Wednesday, PayPal announced an integration with Web3 wallet MetaMask that allows its users to buy crypto through PayPal’s tech.
This is no doubt a new innovation in the crypto world. The users of the MetaMask Web3 wallet can now buy a famous cryptocurrency Ether through PayPal.
At online stores like Etsy and eBay, we see a Paypal checkout feature. Similarly, PayPal is now going to integrate with MetaMask Web3 wallet. This collaboration with Consensys’s MetaMask will permit users to purchase and transfer Ether by logging into MetaMask.
The process is very easy. The user can access it by clicking the buy button and logging into PayPal before the transaction.
How to use PayPal within MetaMask
To add crypto to your MetaMask wallet with PayPal:
- Login into the Mobile MetaMask App.
- Click on the Buy button, then select ‘PayPal’
- Enter the dollar amount worth of ETH to add to your wallet; you will be redirected to PayPal to log in.
- Buy your crypto via PayPal.
- You have successfully bought crypto directly in MetaMask and can now explore Web3 easily.
According to the company, only U.S based MetaMask customers will be able to use PayPal to buy Ether for now.
The collaboration of PayPal and MetaMask will help to widen the customer base for some applications. It will help to eradicate the complicatedness of purchasing cryptocurrency.
According to the product manager of MetaMask Lorenzo Santos,
“This integration with PayPal will allow our U.S users to not just buy crypto seamlessly through MetaMask, but also to easily explore the Web3 ecosystem.”
PayPal has welcomed crypto in multiple ways over the past few years. It is an opportunity for the customers to purchase the crypto in a few minutes. PayPal gave them the ability to buy, hold and sell cryptocurrency on its platform.
