HBL and P@SHA Collaborate to Showcase Pakistan’s IT Potential Globally

HBL and the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) have forged a strategic partnership aimed at positioning Pakistan as a burgeoning tech destination on the global stage. The signing ceremony, graced by Caretaker Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication Dr. Umar Saif, emphasized the vital role of the IT sector in stabilizing the country’s economy. Dr. Saif underscored the need to establish a strong global presence for Brand Pakistan.

A significant highlight of the collaboration was the government’s decision to enable IT companies to retain 50% of their revenue in US dollar accounts, as well as providing corporate debit cards for seamless international transactions. This move, inspired by the recommendations of P@SHA, seeks to bolster export earnings and increase foreign exchange inflows into Pakistan.

HBL, recognized as Pakistan’s Best Bank, has committed to supporting P@SHA in launching impactful initiatives both locally and globally. Muhammad Aurangzeb, President & CEO of HBL, expressed the bank’s dedication to becoming a ‘Technology Company with a Banking License,’ highlighting its tailored financial and technological solutions to meet the specific needs of the IT industry.

Muhammad Zohaib Khan, Chairman of P@SHA, also emphasized the transformative journey ahead for Pakistan’s tech landscape, with the backing of HBL. The collaborative effort is expected to open new doors of opportunity, innovation, and global recognition for the country’s IT industry.
