Meezan Bank has introduced Google Wallet for its customers in Pakistan, enabling them to link their debit cards for seamless digital transactions. This integration enhances the digital payments landscape, allowing users to make secure, contactless payments via Android smartphones and Wear OS devices.
With this launch, Meezan Bank customers can now add their Visa and Mastercard debit cards to Google Wallet, simplifying in-store, online, and in-app transactions. This eliminates the need for carrying physical cards while providing a smooth, feature-rich payment experience. The service supports peer-to-peer transfers, bill payments, and real-time transaction tracking.
Google Wallet incorporates advanced security measures, such as tokenization, which replaces sensitive card details with a unique digital identifier to minimize fraud risks. Users can authenticate transactions securely through fingerprint, PIN, or pattern, ensuring a safe and hassle-free payment experience.
During a recent visit to Meezan Bank’s head office, key industry leaders, including representatives from Google, Thales, Mastercard, and Visa, met with Meezan Bank’s senior leadership. They discussed the role of digital payments in Pakistan’s financial ecosystem and how this collaboration contributes to a cashless economy.
