Ramazan Relief Package Set to Launch on March 4

The much-anticipated Ramadan relief package is scheduled to kick off at Utility Stores on March 4th, 2024.

This year’s subsidy, estimated to be approximately Rs. 2.5 billion more than the previous year’s Rs. 5 billion scheme, marks the most substantial relief package ever allocated to citizens during the sacred month. The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) greenlit the Ramadan Relief Package, surpassing a staggering Rs. 7.49 billion.

Under this initiative, discounts will be applied to 19 essential items, making them more accessible to the public through official utility stores. Staples such as flour, sugar, ghee, cooking oil, rice, and pulses are among the subsidized items. Additionally, items like dates, besan, milk, beverages, and spices will also witness price reductions.

Authorities have outlined plans to extend targeted subsidies to beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). Moreover, special discounted rates will be introduced for general consumers, ensuring widespread access to essential goods throughout the joyous month of Ramadan.

As the Ramadan Relief Package 2024 unfolds, it promises not only increased financial support but also a broader reach, aiming to make essential commodities affordable for a larger segment of the population during this auspicious time.
