Sehat Kahani Secures $2.7 Million in Series A Funding

Sehat Kahani, the health-tech startup founded by qualified medical doctors Dr. Sara Saeed Khurram and Dr. Iffat Zafar Aga, has successfully raised $2.7 million in a Series A funding round. The funding was spearheaded by Amaanah Circle, a Singapore-based health tech fund led by Dr. Razi Yousuf, accompanied by prominent investors such as Epic Angels, Cross Fund, USAID Investment Promotion Activity (IPA), Augmentor, Impact Investment Exchange (IIX), and the Elahi group.

Amaanah Circle expressed enthusiasm about being a part of Sehat Kahani’s journey, recognizing it as an extraordinary health-tech success story. Dr. Razi Yousaf highlighted Amaanah’s pride in contributing subject matter expertise and supporting Sehat Kahani’s vision for regional and global expansion in the future of digital health and preventive healthcare.

Sehat Kahani, established in 2017, operates at the intersection of healthcare and technology, providing a seamless virtual connection between doctors and patients within 60 seconds. The platform’s services include on-demand at-home or on-premises laboratory services and online medicine delivery, catering to a diverse range of clients, from individual consumers to corporates and underserved populations in rural areas.

Dr. Iffat Zafar Aga revealed the remarkable growth of Sehat Kahani, boasting a 141 percent average year-on-year growth in the last three years. Contrary to the misconception that telemedicine was only beneficial during the COVID era, Sehat Kahani witnessed a 5x cumulative growth in the post-pandemic period. Dr. Iffat expressed confidence in expanding operations globally, taking Sehat Kahani to other countries as the next strategic move.

With a global network of 7,500+ healthcare professionals, serving over 800 corporations and 62 e-health clinics nationwide, Sehat Kahani has conducted more than 2.6 million consultations to date. The recent funding infusion is deemed a pivotal moment for Sehat Kahani, allowing the development of advanced features, including decision support systems, precision medicine tools, and predictive AI models. Dr. Sara emphasized their commitment to creating personalized care, tracking patient journeys, and promoting a good quality of life through healthy practices and self-care.

Sehat Kahani has expanded its corporate application into a comprehensive OPD management solution, providing 24/7 hassle-free and cashless access to specialists, online medicine delivery, and efficient claims management for corporate employees and their families.

Maaike Doyer from Epic Angels, the largest female-only investor collective in the APAC region, commended Sehat Kahani’s potential for success and impactful innovation. She sees Sehat Kahani as a beacon of innovation and a model for future healthcare solutions.

Looking ahead, Sehat Kahani aims for regional expansion, with a particular focus on the GCC markets. Amaanah Circle, backed by investors with over 30 years of experience in healthcare and technology in GCC markets, provides valuable expertise for Sehat Kahani’s regional expansion plans.

The Series A funding not only marks a significant milestone for Sehat Kahani but also reinforces its position as a transformative force in the digital healthcare landscape, setting new standards for innovation, accessibility, and personalized healthcare solutions.
