China Plans to Construct A $58 Billion Railway Project in Pakistan

China is going to construct a $58 billion railway project in Pakistan to lessen Pakistan’s dependency on Western trading routes. According to an analysis conducted by China, this is the Belt and Road Initiative’s (BRI) largest and most costly project to date. The 1,860-mile train route will link Kashgar in China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomy zone to Gwadar Port in Pakistan.

The fact that China has increased the range of enterprises in Pakistan with billions of dollars in financing has sparked concerns about Pakistan’s growing credit in the face of a severe economic crisis. Authorities and the financial sector should strongly support the building of this project. It also improves coordination and collaboration across relevant domestic ministries and works to inject support money.

The same team of experts previously worked on Indonesia’s Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail line and it was Asia’s first high-speed rail system which is projected to open in June of this year. Similarly, the planned rail network will connect the biggest factory in the world across the Arabian Sea, giving Pakistan’s emerging industry beneficial keyboard shortcut exposure.

The program seeks to advance China’s economic objectives while advancing China’s status as a worldwide superpower and building global trade power. Furthermore, Pakistan’s focus is to be moved away from trade channels ruled by Western countries.

In a nutshell, the projected railway system is an important component of China’s bigger Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It can change geopolitics and trade for the betterment of not just Beijing but also other nations in the region.

A report in the South Beijing Daily Post, the new railway that connects China to Pakistan is planned to encourage other railway networks. It might link China to Iran and Turkey. Thus, greatly expanding direct connectivity to these regions.
