Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, teamed up with the Pathfinder Group to host the “Digital Pakistan Breakfast” at this year’s World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. The event spotlighted Pakistan’s remarkable digital transformation journey, emphasizing its potential and resilience in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
Moderated by Zarrar Sehgal, Chairman of the Pathfinder Group, the breakfast brought together influential speakers, including Dr. Jehanzeb Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Government Effectiveness, Claude Dyer, Head of the Edison Alliance, and Muhammad Salman Ali, CEO of VRG (Virtual Remittance Gateway). The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz and Chairman of Mobilink Microfinance Bank.
Aamir Ibrahim underscored the challenges facing Pakistan and stressed the pivotal role of technology in addressing them. “As Pakistan’s leading digital operator, we are fully committed to leveraging technology to empower our citizens. By adopting this approach, we can advance Pakistan’s digital agenda, using technology as the ultimate equalizer and democratizer,” explained Ibrahim.
Ibrahim highlighted the transformative impact of JazzCash in the fintech sector. “JazzCash is a prime example of how targeted technology can significantly enhance lives, particularly for women and youth. Serving approximately 45 million Pakistanis, with 30% being women, JazzCash stands at the forefront of financial empowerment. Embracing the 3Ts, we aim to create a Pakistan where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive, bridging inclusion gaps and fostering a tech-driven knowledge economy.”
