Shehbaz Sharif Asks Modi to Hold Serious Talks on Kashmir Dispute

Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, offers sincere dialogue to PM Modi on the Kashmir issue. He said this in an interview with the Al Arabiya news channel. PM says it’s up to us to live peacefully or quarrel with each other and waste resources.

In conversation with Al Arabiya, Prime Minister said “My message to the Indian leadership and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is that let us sit down at the table and have serious and sincere talks to resolve our burning issues like Kashmir”.

India is consistently violating human rights in Kashmir. PM says that this must stop, in order to have sincere dialogue“It is up to us to live peacefully and make progress or quarrel with each other, and waste resources. We have three wars with India and it only brought more misery, poverty, and unemployment to the people. We have learned our lesson and we want to live in peace provided we are able to resolve our genuine problems”.

“If we want to alleviate poverty, achieve prosperity, and provide education and health facilities and employment to our people and not waste our resources on bombs and ammunition, that is the message I want to give to Prime Minister Modi,” PM added.

“Both are nuclear powers, armed to the teeth and if God forbid a war breaks out, who will live to tell what happened,” he stated.

Shehbaz said that the leadership of the United Arab Emirates could play an important role to bring India and Pakistan together.
Pakistan and India are neighbors and they have to learn to live with each other. Both countries cannot progress without resolving their issues, especially the Kashmir dispute. The first step that will bring both countries on one page is trading across the border.
