Masala Grilled Fish: An Easiest Winter Warmer Recipe

Fish is one of the healthiest foods on the planet. It is enriched with nutrients, such as protein and vitamin D, and omega-3 fatty acids. It is very good for your body and brain. Fish is one of the traditional foods in Pakistan, especially in winter. There are various ways to cook fish. But a fish covered with spices and grilled on the pan is the yummiest way to eat fish. It is called Masala Grilled Fish.

Here we are sharing one of the easiest recipes to grill fish coated with masala to give some spice to your taste buds in winter.

Things you will need for Masala Grilled Fish

  • Fish (Machli) 1 kg
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Food color (Zarda) 1 tsp
  • Whole spices (Garam Masala) 1 tbsp 
  • Coriander powder (Sukhia Dhaniya) 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder (Kali Mirch) ½ tbsp
  • Gram flour (Besan) 2 tbsp
  • Salt (Namak) 1 tbsp
  • Red Chili flakes (Lal Mirch) 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste (Lehsan Adrak Paste) 1 tbsp
  • Water (Pani) 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp

How to make Masala Grilled Fish in an Easy way

  1. Take the fish and wash it with fresh water. Use a knife to add some cuts to the fish’s surface.  
  2. In a bowl add oil, food color, whole spices, coriander powder, black pepper powder, gram flour, salt, red chili flakes, and garlic paste and mix them.
  3. Add some water to set the consistency.
  4. Add the fish fillet to this masala mixture and mix evenly to make sure that the whole fillet is covered with masala.
  5. In a grill pan, add 2 tbsp oil and grease the pan well. 
  6. Grill both sides of the fillet for 10-15 minutes at medium flame.
  7. Use a silicone brush to brush some oil on grilled fish.
  8. Plate it out and serve it with salad and chutney.
